The EUPHA section on public health practice and policy has 709 members. This section remains the initiator of the SPHERE project (see below). At the Montreux conference, the section organised a full-day meeting of the SPHERE project and two workshops: one on “Measuring European public health research: what does the literature show?”and the other one on “Future European public health research - challenges and opportunities - A SPHERE workshop”. Furthermore the section co-organised a workshop on “Elderly safety in Europe - an issue for public health policy” together with the proposed section on injury prevention and safety promotion.
